This book, Tomato Ears, is based on our son Nathan’s love of tomatoes and how he ate more tomatoes than anyone else in our family when he was little. I wrote this story when Nathan was in the third grade. When I was a little girl I loved to eat watermelon. My dad told me not to eat the watermelon seeds and he always told me if I did eat the watermelon seeds that a watermelon would grow in my belly and that it would come out of my belly button and so from that memory comes this story. My husband and I have been married for 31 years and we live in Mississippi in a small community called Derby. I have always loved to write and have written a lot of things but this is the first book I have had published. I held onto this story for so long that I was beginning to think that it would never get published. However, the Bible tells us in Romans 8:28 that “We know that all things work together for good to them that love God”. It was one of my dreams to have this story published so if you have a dream don’t give up on it. This book Tomato Ears is proof that my dream came true. You just have to trust the Lord and have faith. Everything is in God’s timing.
